The Railway Industry Association (RIA) is organising an exhibition in the lobby of the Department for Transport, which will be in place over Rail Week (7 – 13 October 2019). It will explore innovation in the industry, looking at how the rail industry is developing new technologies to improve our railways. The exhibition will focus on the theme of ‘M.A.D.E in Britain’, where M.A.D.E stands for Materials, Automation, Data and Energy – key areas where the UK could develop a competitive advantage through innovation. It will also provide information on Rail Week and why rail is such a great industry for young people to get into.
There will be a number of display items, including a model of Alstom’s hydrogen Breeze train, a composites step used in stations and composite material samples used in the interiors of rolling stock. There will also be information on the key M.A.D.E themes via panels and a video.
