RSSB Call for Research – Forecasting Adhesion Networking and Information Day

RSSB is launching a new £300,000 competition to fund a number of feasibility studies, focused on improving adhesion forecasting technology.

Proposals funded through this call should develop novel solutions and approaches to help the rail industry improve its ability to predict and manage the problem of poor adhesion on the tracks.

The competition is open to interested academics from all relevant departments, including rail specialists, weather experts, data scientists, etc. It is also open to innovative organisations and private enterprises, who think they can help advance cutting edge forecasting technology. Rail industry representatives are welcome to attend to help shape and develop ideas – and join in the consortia building process.

Register now to attend the networking and information day taking place 11 June 2018, at CodeNode in London (there is an option to join via webinar if you cannot attend in person). This will provide and opportunity for those interested in the the challenge, to find out more about it and connect with others working or researching in the area.

A collection of useful datasets will be made available online to assist researchers and innovators to tackle the challenge.
