UKRRIN/REF Lecture, Centre of Excellence in Testing

Join us on 9 July from 6pm for the third event in the UK Rail Research Innovation Network (UKRRIN) and Railway Engineers Forum (REF) Lecture series. An innovative series focusing on the four UKRRIN Centres of Excellence, their capabilities, and the future of rail in the UK.

In our third event we are presenting the Centre of Excellence in Testing (CET). Which aims to help accelerate adoption and transformational change in rail systems technology, and new railway products and services. The James Forrest lecture will explore how the rail sector can accelerate new technologies and products from research into market applications.

Delegates will hear key insights into the research activity at the UKRRIN CET, and explore the next steps needed to take rail innovations to implementation.

Speakers from Transport for London, Network Rail and the Quinton Rail Technology Centre will cover:

  • Ongoing research and innovations at the UKRRIN CET
  • How infrastructure providers are currently adopting this research
  • How to overcome some of the challenges and barriers currently preventing implementation
  • Examples of innovation and how this was achieved

This will be followed by keynote Graham Lewis from Network Rail, who will present a case study on innovation in drainage and water management on the rail network.
