RIA Innovation Conference 19-20th March 2019

04th March 2019

The 2019 edition of RIA’s Innovation Conference is fast approaching. With less than a month to go, we wanted to give you a sneak peek of what you can expect to see and hear about from a UKRRIN perspective at the conference.

Taking place at the Telford International Centre, the 11th RIA Innovation Conference carries the theme ‘ M. A. D. E. in Britain‘. Building on RIA’s focus on ‘Growing rail in uncertain times’, M.A.D.E stands for Materials, Automation, Data and Energy all key areas where the UK has world-leading capabilities.

UKRRIN will be exhibiting in the Atcham Suite on both days of the conference. Join us to:

  • get an insight into the research capabilities and facilities offered by our Centres of Excellence,
  • talk to Centre Leads, experts and pre-eminent rail researchers,
  • understand the options for engaging with UKRRIN, developing new ideas and testing and trialling facilities,
  • identify routes to market
  • and most importantly learn about our busy first year of operation and opportunities to engage with the network in 2019.

Clive Roberts, Director of the Birmingham Centre for Railway and Education, and Lead for the UKRRIN Centre of Excellence in Digital Systems will be providing an update on what’s happened since UKRRIN’s doors officially opened for business. Join the panel discussion immediately after this to hear from key new and existing UKRRIN members, who will be sharing their thoughts on why they made the choice to join the network.

If you would like to know more, why not sign up for our break out session ‘Setting the right course: How can UKRRIN help you find a route to market?’. Taking place on both days of the conference, this interactive session will provide you with a chance to find out about the route to market services being offered via the UKRRIN hub and virtual accelerator and contribute to their development. Delegates will have the opportunity to share thoughts on the what the routes to market are for innovation, identify areas where help is required, and share their experiences and ideas around the barriers that have prevent innovations from making it to market. This event is not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you there! Book your ticket through the RIA website.
